The short version
MaxedPixel collects only what it needs to run your project and communicate with you. We do not sell your data. We do not share it with third parties for advertising. We do not use dark patterns to collect more than we need.
This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and what happens to it. If something is unclear, email info@maxedpixel.com and we will explain it in plain English.
What we collect
Information you give us directly
- Contact information (name, email, business name) when you fill out our contact form or sign up for the platform
- Project details and requirements you share in conversations, proposals, and project scoping
- Payment information — processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card number
- Communications — emails, messages sent through the dashboard, and any files you share with us
Information collected automatically
- Basic usage data from the customer dashboard (pages visited, features used) — used only to improve the platform
- Standard server logs (IP address, browser type, referrer) — retained for 30 days for security purposes
What we do not collect
- We do not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics pixels on maxedpixel.com
- We do not build behavioral profiles for advertising purposes
- We do not collect sensitive personal data (health, financial records, government IDs) except as strictly required for a specific project and with your explicit consent
How we use it
Everything we collect is used for one or more of the following purposes:
- To run your project — scoping, building, delivering, and supporting the work we agreed to do
- To communicate with you — project updates, invoices, support messages, and your dashboard
- To improve the platform — understanding how the dashboard is used helps us make it better
- To meet legal obligations — invoicing records, tax compliance, and fraud prevention
We do not use your data for marketing to third parties, do not sell it, and do not share it except as described below.
Third parties we use
We use a small number of tools to run the business. Each has its own privacy policy:
- Stripe — payment processing. Your card data never touches our servers.
- AWS / cloud infrastructure — servers and file storage for hosted projects. Data is stored in US regions.
- Google Workspace — email and document storage for internal business use.
- Vercel / hosting providers — as applicable to specific project hosting arrangements.
We do not use Facebook Pixel, Google Analytics, HubSpot, Intercom, Salesforce, or any other advertising or CRM platform on our marketing site.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you — email us and we will send it within 5 business days
- Correct inaccurate data
- Delete your data — we will remove all personal data not required for legal or contractual purposes within 30 days of your request
- Export your data in a portable format
- Opt out of any non-essential communications at any time
To exercise any of these rights, email info@maxedpixel.com with “Privacy request” in the subject line.
Cookies
We use exactly two types of cookies on the MaxedPixel platform:
- Session cookies — to keep you logged in to your dashboard. These expire when you close your browser unless you check “remember me.”
- Preference cookies — to remember UI settings like your dashboard layout. These are stored locally and never leave your device.
We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party cookies of any kind on the marketing site. The customer dashboard uses only the session and preference cookies described above.
How long we keep data
- Active customer data is kept for the duration of our working relationship plus 3 years for legal/tax purposes
- Inactive prospect data (contact form submissions that did not convert) is deleted after 12 months
- Server logs are retained for 30 days then automatically purged
- Payment records are retained for 7 years as required by US tax law
Security
All data in transit is encrypted via TLS 1.2+. Data at rest is encrypted using AES-256. Access to production systems is restricted to the founder and any explicitly authorized contractors working on a specific project.
If we ever become aware of a data breach that affects your personal data, we will notify you by email within 72 hours.
Changes to this policy
If we materially change this policy, we will notify active customers by email before the change takes effect. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update. Earlier versions are available on request.
